About me

Hey! I'm Navya, a fifth-year (of six!) Integrated B.Tech Data Science student at SVKM's NMIMS MPSTME in Mumbai. By day I'm cleaning datasets and turning messy numbers into stories that make sense. By evening I'm probably on a badminton court, planning my next event, or hunting down a café with a chocolate dessert worth the detour.

What ties it all together? I love making things that bring people together, whether that's a model that finds the pattern or an event that fills the room.

This little world is me in pixels. Scroll to travel through it, or say hi to me up there in the speech bubble ✿

World 1 · London: Side Quests

Every city I visit turns into its own little level: new streets, new cafés, new outfits to plan. This one's London, but these hobbies travel with me everywhere.

✈ Travelling Passport

Wanderlust is basically my default setting. I love the planning almost as much as the going: the itinerary, the playlist for the flight, and that first walk around a new city with no map. Six countries stamped so far, and I come home with more stories than souvenirs.

SOUTH AFRICA AUSTRALIA USA VIETNAM UAE UK NEXT: ???

👗 Fashion The Fitting Room

I genuinely love dressing up. An outfit is the first thing you say before you've said anything, so I plan mine the way I plan events: a theme, a mood, and one statement piece doing the heavy lifting.

Denim day

☕ Cafés & Food The Sweet Spot

My ideal afternoon: a café I've never been to, a window seat, and someone to split dessert with. I keep a running list of places to try, and yes, I have opinions about every dessert I've ever met.

🍫 Desserts Hall of Fame

I have a sweet tooth that refuses to be talked down, and it has a very clear type: chocolate. These are my official rankings, and I will defend them.

  1. 2Chocolate anything
  2. 1Strawberries & chocolate
  3. 3…also chocolate

🎧 Music Navya's Travel Mix

There's a song for every mood and a playlist for every trip. Music is the background score for my studying, my travelling and my writing.

NAVYA'S MIX ♡
  1. Side A Anything by Arijit Singh
  2. Side B Can't Help Falling in Love · Elvis Presley (on repeat)

🪶 Poetry The Poet's Corner

I write poetry when a feeling gets too big for a caption, mostly about places, people, and the small moments you only notice when you slow down.

Keep scrolling. I left one of mine for you ↓

Wanderlust

Wanderlust whispers, the journey’s near,

pack your bags, no doubt, no fear.

through alpine mountains and breezy beaches,

every journey has something it preaches.

The world unfolds, in endless grace,

You make new friends, in every place

The thoughts you hide, the pain you hold,

Will fade in the stories the world has told.

With every step, new sights to see,

Traveling sets the spirit free.

World 2 · The Court: Projects & Work

Badminton taught me how I like to work: stay light on your feet, read the play early, and never give up on a shuttle that looks lost. These are the rallies I'm proudest of.

Streaming Platform Engagement & Churn Simulator

How do people drift from "just browsing" to bingeing, subscribing, or leaving? I modelled Netflix-style user behaviour as a 6-state Markov chain (Visitor → Binge → Subscriber → Churn), found its steady state with power iteration and checked it was ergodic.

Then I ran a Monte Carlo simulation (1,000 users × 50 steps, with optional Poisson arrivals) that landed on a simulated 31% free-to-paid conversion rate, and put it all in a 5-page Streamlit dashboard with live sensitivity analysis, transition heatmaps and funnel metrics.

Bitcoin Fear & Greed: Sentiment vs. Profitability

Does "buy fear, sell greed" actually work? I tested it on 200,000+ real trades from 32 traders with two regression models: trade PnL against the Fear & Greed index and trade side, and next-day BTC returns against the index.

The verdict: statistically significant evidence that fear favours buyers at the trade level, but only a weak signal at the daily price level. Visualised across a 5-page Streamlit dashboard.

EduX · OpenAI × NxtWave Buildathon

At the state-level OpenAI × NxtWave Buildathon, our team built EduX, an AI-powered smart study companion. I did most of the front-end work, so the part you'd actually click on was largely mine. (Very on-brand for someone who lives for academic validation.)

I also competed in the India Innovates Hackathon in March 2026.

Head of Artist & Guest Management · Social Conclave · 2025–26

Social Conclave is an MUN-style conference about social causes, where students debate real issues and work toward real solutions. I led the team that brought in and looked after our guests, coordinating with C-suite executives and industry leaders across outreach and hospitality.

Executive · Sports Committee, NMIMS MPSTME

I helped organise college sports events from the ground up: fixtures, venues, schedules, volunteers, and the classic early-morning "who has the shuttlecocks?" panic. It taught me that a good event is 90% planning and 10% staying calm when the plan changes.
